Michael Christopher Sardo is a political theorist with research and teaching interests in the history of political thought, contemporary democratic theory, and environmental political theory. He is currently a Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Politics at Occidental College where he teaches courses on political theory, environmental political theory, and American politics.
He completed his doctoral studies at Northwestern University in 2017, where he wrote a dissertation on the politics of responsibility drawing on the thought of Friedrich Nietzsche, and previously taught at University of California, Irvine.
His current research projects include a book project on political theory and the Anthropocene through the lens of Nietzsche’s thought as well as article-length projects on the challenges of political responsibility in global politics.
